A night spent in the mountains is an unforgettable experience and the
situation of Skye, as an island on the edge of the western seaboard, with
views that encompass both the outer isles and the mountain wilderness
of the west coast of Scotland, make this a perfect location for mountain
camps and bivouacs.
Spend a night
on the on the island's outliers such as, Sgurr na Stri, Marsco, or Beinn
Dearg Mhor, and watch the sun as it sets and rises among the magnificent
Cuillin. The quality of light on Skye is justly famous among artists and
photographers and with the luxury of a tent you can enjoy the mountains
in comfort.
Let your
guide plan a two day expedition with an overnight bivouac in a stone shelter
on the ridge or one of the Cuillins caves. Traverse a section of the ridge
or complete a "Cuillin-cross" from coast to coast across the mountains.
High mountain
camps and bivouacs are inclusively designed for walkers, scramblers, and
climbers and are always a unique and individual experience.
